As we prepare for a busy 2019 season we have a vacancy for an additional Chef to join the existing team. We would be happy to talk to Commis Chefs, CDP’s and Sous Chefs. The Black Bull Inn, Lowick is a fresh and vibrant country inn with a team who are passionate about giving great care to all of our guests. We have a talented kitchen team who have worked hard over the recent years to build a strong reputation for our food with a focus on quality, local produce, and affordability. We are looking for a positive team player who is looking to join an experienced team. We need someone who will bring energy, ideas and enthusiasm and who will contribute to the day to day running of a busy kitchen.
Key areas of responsibility,
– Commitment and care for quality and service
– Preparing and cooking food from the restaurant menu
– Financial and stock control
– Maintaining legislative standards of cleanliness and control
– Minimum one-year experience in a busy kitchen environment and Level 2 food handling certificated.
Ideally, already able to prepare, cook and present to a high standard in keeping with what guests would expect of a premium country inn. Salary will be negotiable based on skill and experience within the range of £19,000 to £25,000. Existing Sous Chefs, Chef de Parties and Commis Chefs would all be of interest and should apply. The role is based in Lowick and you should have transport in place to get to and from work.
Guest Services Assistant (Waiter/Waitress)
Due to continued development in our business, we are now recruiting more team members. We have a really talented & enthusiastic team who receive regular praise for their work through various customer review sites. At the Black Bull, Lowick we are a family run business, passionate about providing our guests with the best possible service. We are looking for part-time team members to join us as soon as possible working approximately 20-25 hours with the opportunity to work full time over the summer season. We are a multi-skilled team and you will be expected to work in various areas of the pub/hotel. We are specifically recruiting people who are available to work mornings, afternoons and evenings including weekends. Experience in the service industry including retail is preferable but not essential. £6.15 to £8.38 /hour
We are now planning for the 2019 season and have a vacancy for a Housekeeping Assistant to join the existing team. The Black Bull Inn – Lowick is a fresh and vibrant country inn with a team who are passionate about giving great care to all of our guests. We have a talented team who have worked hard to build a strong reputation fo our room cleanliness. We are looking for a positive team player who is looking to join an experienced team. You will work at least 20 hours per week (base contract) but would be required to be flexible to work as and when needed to meet demand, which means you may work up to 35 hours You will work from 7.45am some mornings but will finish by 3 pm most days. You will be required to work 5 out of 7 days including weekends. You must have your own transport to Lowick.

– Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in the guest rooms.
– Working at pace and to tight schedules to prepare rooms and public areas for guest arrival.
